On February 7 a meeting was held between the heads of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Armenia and the Training Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, at which the parties agreed to conduct Russian language lessons to improve the skills and knowledge of customs officers.

Gor Vardanyan, Head of the Educational Programs Department of the SRC Training Center, opened the beginning of the training programs with a welcoming speech and noted the importance of holding such courses on a permanent basis and spoke about the strict measures for obtaining a certificate of knowledge of Russian or another foreign language.
Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Armenia Vadim Fefilov, during the greeting noted that the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office had already conducted Russian language courses for police officers in the Syunik and Shirak regions, as well as in Yerevan. In turn, the head of the training center of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Arusyak Mirzakhanyan emphasized the urgent need to improve the knowledge of the Russian language among the employees of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia:

“Recently, a large number of Russian citizens have come to Armenia. Communication with Russian-speaking citizens requires certain knowledge of special terminology, especially for customs and tax officials. That is why the Russian House and our training center organized these courses. I must admit that the response from the mission was very quick and together we were able to start classes quickly”.

The courses will last 3 months, right after which the employees of the tax service of the State Revenue Committee will start the classes.

The lessons will be taught by members of the Armenian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.

President of the Armenian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature Lilia Balasanyan held an introductory lesson, where she tested the group to determine the level of Russian language proficiency.
