Training course on “Emotional Intelligence”

Effective management requires a range of skills and qualities, one of which is the ability to manage emotional intelligence. Therefore, to succeed in the management process, it is essential to properly manage and direct the emotions of both managers and employees while performing their functions.

Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and influence one’s own emotions and those of others. It plays a crucial role in how we interact with others, manage stress, and make decisions.

Emphasizing the continuous improvement and development of soft skills, within the framework of the “Management Skills” course organized for officials holding managerial positions in the Customs Service of the RA SRC, a three-day training course was conducted on the topics of “Emotional Intelligence,” “Management Skills,” and “Leadership Skills Development.” The training was conducted by Gohar Davtyan — a doctor, business consultant, motivational speaker, coach, and trainer with 16 years of experience in management, recognized as “Best Leader in Europe” in 2005 and 2008, a nominee of the “Business Women” competition in 2017, and the author of the book “Point of Balance.”

Emotional intelligence management includes:

  • Self-awareness: the ability to recognize and understand one’s own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, values, and motivations.
  • Self-regulation: the ability to manage and redirect emotions, impulses, and resources, enabling calm and balanced decision-making.
  • Motivation: the path to achieve goals with energy and persistence, often driven by internal factors rather than external rewards.
  • Empathy: the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, enabling better interpersonal relationships and communication, etc.

Since management also involves guiding, influencing, and inspiring individuals or teams to achieve goals, the development of emotional intelligence can lead to improved relationships, better mental health, and greater success in both personal and professional environments.
