Post-Release Control Capacity Development Program with the Support of the World Bank

Within the framework of post-release control capacity development supported by the World Bank, a multi-stage program has been implemented during 2023–2024 with the involvement of international experts. As part of this program, another workshop was held from April 15 to 26 at the RA SRC Training Center for employees of the RA SRC Post-Realese Control and Inspections Department.

The World Customs Organization and the World Bank, following the policy of conducting customs control both at the stage of goods release and after release, and in line with the provisions of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, place particular importance on implementing post-release control in accordance with international standards.

The goal of the workshop was to familiarize officials conducting Post Release Audits with the latest international practices, hold discussions, and localize the acquired knowledge and international experience into practical application. In particular, participants were introduced to customs audit and risk management systems used by EU customs authorities in line with WCO international standards, procedures for field audits and system-based inspections, and best practices for their implementation within the functions assigned to the customs authorities of the Republic of Armenia. The workshop also facilitated the exchange of experience and knowledge among customs officers from different countries.

It should also be noted that in recent years, several training and awareness-raising initiatives have been implemented with the support of the World Bank and the WCO, all aimed at strengthening post-release control capacities in the Republic of Armenia.
