“EAEU Technical Regulations: Mandatory Requirement for the Availability of Conformity Assessment Documents”
On March 26, the RA SRC Training Center hosted a course on “EAEU Technical Regulations: Mandatory Requirement for the Availability of Conformity Assessment Documents.” The course was conducted by Lilith Ghazaryan, Chief Customs Inspector of the Non-Tariff Regulation and Customs Procedures Coordination Division of the SRC.
According to Decision No. 130 of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated November 12, 2021, “On the Procedure for Importing Products Subject to Mandatory Conformity Assessment into the Customs Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union,” the rules for importing such products into the EAEU customs territory are defined. The decision also specifies cases where conformity assessment documents issued by accredited and/or designated bodies must or must not be submitted to customs authorities.
Currently, intensive efforts are underway in the Republic of Armenia to ensure sufficient conditions for conformity assessment of all products subject to technical regulation, as well as to develop laboratory capacities. Starting from April 1, 2024, strict control measures are being implemented to verify the availability of required conformity assessment documents. In the absence of such documents at the import stage for products subject to technical regulation, the release of goods will not be permitted by the customs authorities.
